To the Members of the California State Senate:

I am returning Senate Bill 288 without my signature.

For the reasons set forth in the messages accompanying my vetoes of
SB 110 and SB 456, I do not believe it wise to add yet another crime
to our state codes, even on such an important topic as protecting our
redwood trees.
