Specifically, this bill: SB 436 Page 2 1)Corrects references to non-existent code sections and makes technical changes to provisions related to school district reorganization. 2)Clarifies that the three schoolsite representatives of the K-12 High Speed Network advisory board serve a renewable two-year term, consistent with the terms of the other advisory board members. 3)Removes obsolete references and eliminates various reporting requirements and program evaluations that no longer exist. FISCAL EFFECT: Negligible state fiscal impact. COMMENTS: This bill is the annual K-12 education clean-up bill that makes various non-controversial revisions to the Education Code. The majority of the provisions were identified by the California Department of Education and make technical corrections to the statute, such as correcting a section citation or striking obsolete language. By tradition, objection to any provision by the agency affected, the Department of Finance, or any of the four legislative caucuses prevents that provision from being included in this bill.
