To the Members of the California State Senate:

I am returning Senate Bill 547 without my signature.

This bill establishes the Statewide Aging and Long-Term Care Services
Coordinating Council and requires it to develop a strategic plan
that addresses California's aging population.

These are important issues, but I'm not convinced that creating such
an unwieldy state council would advance the goals we both share.
