FISCAL EFFECT: Minor and absorbable enforcement costs to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. SB 557 Page 2 COMMENTS: Purpose. According to the author, this bill will allow the Del Mar Fairgrounds to develop alcoholic beverage sponsorships with manufacturers and distributors. The author claims allowing alcoholic beverage advertising at the fairgrounds and racetrack will allow Del Mar to compete with other arenas and stadiums, helping improve the economic viability of horse racing and other events at the facilities.
