Senate BillNo. 583

Introduced by Senator Jackson

February 26, 2015

An act to amend Section 214 of the Family Code, relating to family law.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

SB 583, as introduced, Jackson. Family law.

Existing law authorizes, except as otherwise provided, the court to direct the trial of an issue of fact joined in a family law proceeding to be private, and to exclude all persons except the officers of the court, the parties, their witnesses, and counsel, when the court considers it necessary in the interests of justice.

This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.
