workers (LCSWs).
It also contains chaptering-out language.
FISCAL EFFECT:
Minor and absorbable costs to the Board of Behavioral Sciences
(BBS) (Behavioral Science Examiners Fund).
COMMENTS:
1)Purpose. This bill streamlines experience hour requirements
for licensed mental health professionals so that they are
simple for applicants to track and obtain, and more
straightforward for board evaluators to analyze. It implements
recommendations based on stakeholder analysis of the number of
hours that should be required in different categories.
2)Chaptering language. This bill contains language to avoid
chaptering out AB 250 (Obernolte), which is enrolled and
awaiting action by the Governor. AB 250 addressed the ability
of interns and trainees working towards BBS licensure to use
telehealth, and amends code section BPC 4980.43. SB 800
(Committee on Business and Professions) also amends code
section BPC 4980.43 by requiring an applicant to register as
an intern before being employed or volunteering in private
practice.
