Summary: SB 898 would provide a sales and use tax (SUT)
exemption for the sale of animal blood.

The following information is revised to reflect amendments
adopted by the committee on May 27, 2016
Fiscal
Impact: This bill would result in an annual revenue loss of less
than $150,000, half of which would be General Fund. The
remainder of the reduction would impact local governments.
Additionally, the Board of Equalization would incur minor and
absorbable implementation costs.

Amendments: Provide the SUT exemption to nonprofit animal
bloodbanks only.
