An act to amend Section 22350 of the Penal Code, relating to
vehicles.

SB 951, as introduced, McGuire. Vehicles: speed limit.
Existing law prohibits a person from driving a vehicle upon a
highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due
regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and
width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed that endangers the
safety of persons or property.
This bill would expressly prohibit a person from driving a vehicle
upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent
having due regard for objects and disabled vehicles on the side of
the highway.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 22350 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:
22350. No A person shall not
drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is
reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the
traffic on, objects and disabled vehicles on the side of,
and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed
which that endangers the safety of
persons or property.
