An act to amend Section 19849.18 of the Government Code, relating to state employees.

SB 1058, as amended, Pan. State employment: supervisors.

Existing law requires that supervisors of state employees represented by State Bargaining Unit 5, 6, or 8 receive salary and benefits changes that are at least generally the economic equivalent to the salary and benefits granted to employees they supervise. Existing law requires that the specific benefits that these supervisors receive be determined through a meet and confer process.

This bill would extend these requirements to apply to the salary and benefits changes for supervisors of state employees represented by State Bargaining Unitbegin delete 7.end deletebegin insert 7 who are classified as peace officers by the California Department of Human Resources.end insert

Section 19849.18 of the Government Code is

(b) With regard to supervisors of state employees represented
11by State Bargaining Unit 7, this section shall only apply to
12supervisors who are classified as peace officers by the Department
13of Human Resources.
