Existing law authorizes 2 or more public agencies that have the authority to identify, plan for, monitor, control, regulate, dispose of, or abate liquid, toxic, or hazardous wastes or hazardous materials, by agreement, to form a joint powers authority to exercise any power common to the contracting parties.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to that provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
Section 6502.7 of the Government Code is
2amended to read:
(a) If authorized by their legislative or other governing
4bodies, two or more public agenciesbegin delete whichend deletebegin insert thatend insert have the authority
5to identify, plan for, monitor, control, regulate, dispose of, or abate
6liquid, toxic, or hazardous wastes or hazardous materials may, by
7agreement, jointly exercise any of these powers common to the
8contracting parties.
9(b) The contracting parties may provide special services,
10including persons specially trained, experienced, expert, and
11competent to perform these special services.
