BILL SUMMARY: 

AB 2936 reorganizes and revises sections of the  
Penal Code and Family Code relating to child  
abduction and concealment.

STAFF COMMENTS:  

The Legislative Analyst indicates that this bill  
contains a reimbursable local mandate which  
probably is less than $150,000 for child protective  
cases.  The intent of this bill is to remedy  
parental kidnapping enforcement problems.   
According to the sponsor of the bill, the Santa  
Clara County District Attorneyos Office, this bill  
primarily is a technical reorganization of code  
sections which provides more specific definitions  
and directions to the court.
