 SUBJECT:  Ronald Reagan Freeway

 DIGEST:  This resolution would name the State Highway Route 118  
freeway in Southern California as the Ronald Reagan Freeway. 

 ANALYSIS:  This resolution is intended to honor the public service  
of Ronald Reagan to the people of the United States and in  
particular to the people of California.  The resolution highlights  
Ronald Reagan's career both as the Governor of California and as  
the 40th President of the United States.  The resolution would  
designate the State Highway Route 118 freeway in his honor.

SR 7 directs the Department of Transportation to erect appropriate  
plaques and markers showing the official designation upon receiving  
donations from nonstate sources sufficient to cover the signs'  
costs.
