LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 323, Baldwin. Counties: oversight committees. Existing law prohibits a member of a county treasury oversight committee from securing employment with bond underwriters, bond counsel, security brokerages or dealers, or financial services firms during the period that the person is a member of the committee or for three years after leaving the committee. This bill instead would prohibit a person who is a member of the committee from securing employment with, or being employed by, any of these employers with whom the county treasurer is doing business or for one year after leaving the committee. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 27132.3 of the Government Code is amended to read: 27132.3. A member may not secure employment with, or be employed by, bond underwriters, bond counsel, security brokerages or dealers, or financial services firms, with whom the treasurer is doing business during the period that the person is a member of the committee or for one year after leaving the committee.
