   An act relating to arrested persons.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 860, as introduced, Bass.   Arrested persons: notice of
parental rights.
   Existing law prescribes the procedure to be followed upon a person'
s arrest.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to require
local law enforcement agencies to provide every person who is
arrested and has minor children with information about their parental
rights and responsibilities, including the process of termination of
parental rights.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:


  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to require local
law enforcement agencies to provide every person who is arrested and
has minor children with information about their parental rights and
responsibilities, including the process of termination of parental
rights.
