	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1712, as introduced, Hancock. CalWORKs: Kin-GAP Program.

Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program, under which each county
provides cash assistance and other benefits to qualified low-income

law, the Kinship Guardianship Assistance Payment (Kin-GAP) Program,
provides for financial assistance to children who, after being
adjudged dependent children of the juvenile court, are placed in
legal guardianship with a relative, at specified rates.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to address the provision of benfits under the Kin-Gap
Program.

State-mandated local program: no.
