           SUMMARY

This bill makes minor technical changes to the Welfare and
Institutions Code designed to update outdated language related
to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's
Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), such as requiring the DJJ to
accept a person who is "borderline psychiatric," "borderline
mentally deficient," or a "sexual deviate"-terms considered
          somewhat archaic.

           FISCAL EFFECT

          Negligible.

           COMMENTS

Rationale . According to the author, the intent of this bill is
to delete terms no longer used by mental health professionals.

In response to suggestions that this is a spot bill, the
author's office has agreed there will be no amendments to this
          measure on the floor.
