          SUBJECT  :   California Firefighters Memorial Day.

           SUMMARY  :   Proclaims September 29, 2007, as California  
          Firefighters Memorial Day.  Specifically,  this legislation  makes  
          the following legislative findings:  

          1)On September 29, 2007, firefighters and their families will  
            gather at the State Capitol with other Californians to  
            remember those whose lives were lost in the line of duty this  
            year and in years past, as part of the 2007 California  
            Firefighters Memorial annual ceremony.

          2)Through their work as firefighters, dedicated men and women  
            put themselves in harms way on a daily basis to protect the  
            citizens and property of the state of California; and their  
            commitment to public service and unwavering courage in the  
            face of danger should not go unrecognized.
