Original Committee Reference: RLS.
SUMMARY : Consolidates, reorganizes, and abolishes particular
state boards and bureaus. Specifically, this bill :
The Senate amendments delete the Assembly version of this bill,
and instead:
1)Abolish the Bureau of Naturopathic Medicine and requires the
Governor to appoint two additional members to the Board of
Osteopathic Examiners that must be Naturopathic Doctors and
creates the Naturopathic Medicine Committee within the
Osteopathic Medical Board of California and provides that
these provisions sunset January 1, 2013.
2)Consolidate the Structural Pest Control Board within the
Department of Pesticide Regulation, keeping the board and its
licensing and regulatory functions intact and maintaining the
transparency and public input of the board's regulatory
operations.
3)Consolidate the Bureau of Electronic Appliance Repair and the
Bureau of Home Furnishings and Thermal Insulation into the
Bureau of Electronic and Appliance Repair, Home Furnishings,
and Thermal Insulation under the Department of Consumer
Affairs.
4)Consolidate the Board for Geologists and Geophysicists under
the Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and
transfers to PY's to the Board for Professional Engineers and
Land Surveyors to handle issues relating to geologists and

geophysicists.
5)Place a sunset date of January 1, 2012 on the Maintenance
Review Committee.
AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY , this was a vehicle for the budget
trailer bill.
