           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "Los Angeles County Deputy  
          Sheriff David Powell Memorial Highway," the segment of State  
          Route 91 between State Highway 605 and Pioneer Boulevard.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs;  
          these costs are covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS 

           Purpose  . This measure honors Deputy Sheriff David Powell, who  
          was killed in the line of duty on November 30, 2002 in the City  
          of Artesia while conducting an investigation.
