           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "Larry Stanley Pierce Memorial  
          Highway," the segment of State Route 46 within the City of  
          Wasco.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs;  
          these costs are covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose  . This measure honors Larry Stanley Pierce, who was  
          killed on September 20, 1965 while serving as an Army Staff  
          Sergeant in the Vietnam War.  Mr. Pierce was posthumously  
          awarded the Medal of Honor by President Lyndon Johnson.
