SUBJECT : Public Service Recognition Month.
SUMMARY : Designates the week of May 2 to May 8, 2010, as Public
Service Recognition Month; and encourages all Californians to
recognize the crucial role of public employees in this state.
Specifically, this resolution makes the following legislative
findings:
1)The professionalism and expertise demonstrated by public
employees in this state in carrying out a wide variety of
services have helped to build a strong foundation for our
government; and their contributions have strengthened our
belief that public service is a noble profession.
2)The State of California wishes to pay tribute to all public
employees in the state for dedicating themselves to improving
the quality of life for all of the people of California.
FISCAL EFFECT : None
COMMENTS : Committee staff recommends adopting this resolution,
as proposed to be amended, to correct a technical error which
will change Public Service Recognition Month to Public Services
Recognition Week. Specifically: page 2, line 12: after
"Public Services Recognition", delete "Month" and insert "Week".
