           SUMMARY  

          This bill designates, as the "CHP Officer Johnny R. Martinez  
          Memorial Highway," a portion of State Route (SR) 10 within the  
          City of Alhambra.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs,  
          fully offset by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose  .  This measure honors Officer Martinez, who service four  
          years with the CHP and who, with his partner, was killed by a  
          two gunman while clearing debris from the San Bernardino Freeway  
          on October 2, 1981.
