           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "Mayor Dick DeWees Memorial  
          Highway," the portion of State Route (SR) 246 from the western  
          city limit of Buellton to the junction with SR 1 in the City of  
          Lompoc.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs;  
          these costs are covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose  . This measure honors Mr. DeWees, who served for almost  
          11 years as the Mayor of the City of Lompoc, until he passed  
          away on July 30, 2009.
