ANALYSIS : Paul Johnson began his broadcasting career in
the 1950s at a rock and roll station in Grand Forks, North
Dakota. After serving in the United States Army, he
relocated to Los Angeles where he appeared in movies,
several opera productions, and numerous television
          commercials.
Mr. Johnson began traffic reporting in 1982 on the radio at
several Los Angeles stations, including KNX, KZLA, KACE,
KXEZ, and KSRF. Since 1988, he had been a part of KNBC's
on-air team. During his tenure with KNBC, he served as a
weather and traffic report anchor and contributor and
delivered traffic information daily to millions of southern
          Californians for 28 years.

          3. Requests the Department of Transportation to determine
