An act to amend Section 1667 of the Insurance Code, relating to
insurance agents and brokers.

AB 784, as introduced, Gaines. Insurance: agents and brokers:
licenses.
Existing law prohibits any application for a license to be an
insurance agent or broker from being denied unless the applicant has
an opportunity to be heard in support of the application, as
specified.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that
provision.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 1667 of the Insurance Code is amended to read:
1667. Except as provided in Section 1669, a license shall not be
denied without an opportunity to the applicant to be heard in support
of his or her application. When a hearing is held, the
proceedings shall be conducted in accordance with Chapter 5 of Part 1
of Division 3 of Title 2 of the Government Code.
