SUMMARY : Requires the California Building Standards Commission
(CBSC) or any state agency proposing green building standards
(GBS) to seek the input of specified state agencies and other
organizations, as prescribed.
The Senate amendments delete the requirement that the GBS
adopted or approved by the CBSC pursuant to this bill, at a
minimum, be inserted into the relevant part of the California
Building Standards Code, where appropriate, and adds the
Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) to the
list of agencies sought for input in the development of green
building standards.
AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY , this bill was substantially similar
to the version approved by the Senate.
FISCAL EFFECT : According to the Senate Appropriations
Committee, pursuant to Senate Rule 28.8, negligible state costs.
COMMENTS : This bill, as amended in the Senate, is consistent
with Assembly actions and includes minor amendments to delete
language already included in existing law. According to the
author's office, HCD requested to be added to the list of
agencies sought for input in the development of green building
standards.
