STAFF COMMENTS: SUSPENSE FILE.
This bill requires every local law enforcement agency to report
the information specified above to DOJ. For cities and counties
which have their evidence logs computerized, this bill requires
a much smaller task than for those that do not. Because this
bill is prospective, however, it would be simple for local law
enforcement agencies to develop a system of cataloguing this
information as rape kits come in, and continuing to track them.
Workload should be minor.
