SUMMARY : Makes technical corrections to two sections of last
year's historic water legislation by correcting a town name and
the reference to a federal agency.

The Senate amendments delete a section addressing urban water
management plans (UWMPs) to remove a conflict with SB 1478
(Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee), which addresses
          that issue.

          EXISTING LAW :

1)Revises the Delta Protection Commission membership and
authorities and establishes the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta
            Conservancy.

2)Requires urban retail water suppliers to develop urban water
use targets that will cumulatively result in a 20 percent
reduction in per capita water use by December 31, 2020.

3)Extends by six months, until July 1, 2011, the deadline for
urban retail water suppliers to complete UWMPs in order to
allow the option of incorporating a method of determining
urban water use targets which the Department of Water
Resources must develop by December 31, 2010.

AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY , this bill made two technical name
corrections and extended the date for urban wholesale water
suppliers to complete UWMPs to July 1, 2011, the same as urban
          retail water suppliers.

           FISCAL EFFECT : None

                                                                  Page 2

COMMENTS : This bill makes nonsubstantive technical changes to
the Delta Protection Commission and Delta Conservancy portions
of SB 1 (Simitian), Chapter 5, Statutes of 2009-10 Seventh
Extraordinary Session, which was part of last year's historic
water package legislation. This bill, as amended in the Senate,
no longer duplicates language in SB 1478, a Senate Natural
          Resources and Water Committee bill.

This bill has passed on consent in every committee and on the
Assembly floor. There is no known opposition.
