SUMMARY : Authorizes the California Architects Board (CAB) to
accept self-certification of completed continuing education (CE)
requirements for license renewals.
The Senate amendments delete a $5,000 civil penalty, license
suspension or revocation, or both, against a licensee who fails
to complete the specified CE requirements, and instead subject a
licensee who provides false or misleading statements regarding
completed CE requirements to administrative citation, which may
include a fine or disciplinary action by CAB.
EXISTING LAW :
1)Provides for the licensure and regulation of persons engaged
in the practice of architecture by CAB.
2)Requires a licensed architect, as a condition of license
renewal, to complete coursework on disability access
requirements, as specified, and to certify completion to CAB.
AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY , this bill authorized CAB to accept
self-certification of completed CE requirements for license
renewals.
FISCAL EFFECT : According to the Senate Appropriations
Committee, pursuant to Senate Rule 28.8, negligible state costs.
COMMENTS : This bill was amended in the Senate and is consistent
