   An act relating to corrections.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1880, as introduced, Torrico. Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation: accountability.
   Existing law establishes the Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation and invests it with various powers and duties.
   This bill would state that it is the intent of the Legislature to
enact legislation that would improve the accountability and
operations of the department.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that will improve the accountability and operations of
the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
