SUMMARY : Makes it unlawful for a provider or vendor of floral
or ornamental products or services (floral vendor), as defined,
to misrepresent the geographic location of its business, as
specified.
The Senate amendments delete:
1)The provision making it unlawful for a floral vendor to
misrepresent its geographic location by listing a local
telephone number in any advertisement or listing to which
calls are routinely forwarded or otherwise transferred to a
different location from the one indicated in the advertisement
or listing.
2)The requirement for a floral vendor to provide the state where
their business is located in an advertisement or listing when
listing a local telephone number.
EXISTING LAW provides for the regulation of advertising and
makes certain advertising practices unlawful.
AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY , this bill is substantially similar to
the version approved by the Senate.
FISCAL EFFECT : According to the Senate Appropriations
Committee, pursuant to Senate Rule 28.8, negligible state costs.
