           SUMMARY  :   Establishes new examination requirements for  
          applicants seeking licensure as clinical social workers (LCSWs).  
           

           The Senate amendments  incorporate conforming changes to avoid  
          chaptering issues with AB 2191 (Emmerson) and SB 1489 (Business,  
          Professions and Economic Development Committee).

           EXISTING LAW  :

          1)Provides for the licensure and regulation of LCSWs by the  
            Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).

          2)Requires BBS to issue a license to each applicant meeting  
            specified requirements who passes BBS administered  
            examinations, as specified.

          3)Establishes the following examination fee structure:

            a)   $150 for the standard written examination; and,

            b)   $100 for the clinical vignette written examination.

           AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY  , this bill was substantially similar  
          to the version approved by the Senate.
           
          FISCAL EFFECT  :   According to the Senate Appropriations  
          Committee, pursuant to Senate Rule 28.8, negligible state costs.
