BILL NUMBER: AB 2295
  VETOED	DATE: 09/29/2010

To the Members of the California State Assembly:

I am returning Assembly Bill 2295 without my signature.

This bill would require the California Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation (CDCR) to retain all files, or electronic copies of
those files, prepared by the Division of Adult Parole Operations
regarding any person who is paroled and who is required to register
as a sex offender for 75 years from the date of release. This
measure is unnecessary. The CDCR's current policy concerning the
retention of sex offender records exceeds what is required of this
bill.

Consequently, I am unable to sign this bill.

Sincerely,

Arnold Schwarzenegger
