AB 2459 (Caballero) - As Amended: April 6, 2010
Policy Committee: Public
SafetyVote: 7-0
Urgency: No State Mandated Local Program:
No Reimbursable:
SUMMARY
This bill authorizes counties to establish a Community Juvenile
Probation Performance Incentives Fund to support supervision and
rehabilitative services for juvenile offenders subject to
probation. All programs receiving funding shall be spent on
evidence-based practices.
FISCAL EFFECT
No direct state or local costs or savings as the bill is
permissive, does not identify any potential funding sources, is
silent on the use of incentives, and does not specify practices
not currently employed by most probation departments.
COMMENTS
Need for the bill is not clear , as counties could currently
establish funds for probation purposes if such funds were
available.
