BILL NUMBER: AB 2667
VETOED DATE: 09/29/2010
To the Members of the California State Assembly:
I am returning Assembly Bill 2667 without my signature.
Existing law requires public or private hospitals, clinics, or
birthing centers to provide information on the current law requiring
child passenger restraint systems for children less than six years of
age. This measure would specify that a hospital would also have to
provide information to parents on how to contact someone to assist in
the installation of a child restraint seat. While this additional
requirement may not be burdensome on hospitals, it is simply
unnecessary. Parents must take responsibility for the installation
and use of child restraint systems.
For this reason, I am unable to sign this bill.
Sincerely,
Arnold Schwarzenegger
