SUBJECT : Professions and vocations: military personnel.
SUMMARY : Requires state boards to consult the Military
Department (MD) before adopting rules and regulations related to
the education, training, and experience obtained in the armed
services and how it can meet licensure requirements for
occupations and professions licensed and regulated under the
Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA).
EXISTING LAW :
1)Provides for the licensure and regulation of certain
businesses, occupations, and professions by specified boards
within DCA.
2)Requires state boards to consult the Department of Veterans
Affairs (DVA) before adopting rules and regulations to provide
for methods of evaluating education, training, and experience
obtained in the armed services, and if applicable, specify how
they can meet the requirements of the business, occupation, or
profession under DCA.
FISCAL EFFECT : Unknown
COMMENTS :
Purpose of the bill . According to the author's office, "The MD
would aid in specifying how this education, training, and
experience may be used to meet the licensure requirements for
the particular business, occupation, or profession regulated
[under DCA]."
