           DIGEST  :    This resolution adopts the Joint Rules of the  
          Legislature for the 2009-10 Regular Session.

           Assembly Amendments  amended Joint Rule 10.5 by specifying  
          that if a bill assigns a study to the Joint Legislative  
          Budget Committee or to the Legislative Analyst it is to be  
          referred to the respective Rules Committee, and before the  
          Committee may act upon the bill it is to obtain from the  
          Legislative Budget Committee an estimate of the amount to

          be expended to make the study, and makes several other  
          clarifying changes.

           ANALYSIS  :    The legislative rules are similar to the  
          2008-09 Session which changes the legislative deadlines and  
          calendar to reflect the new session.
