DIGEST : This resolution recognizes the week of May 17 to
May 23 2009, as Classified School Employee Week, and
encourages the public to give recognition to classified
school employees for their numerous contributions and
invaluable services to California's public schools and
community colleges.
ANALYSIS : Classified school employees are education
support professionals who continually strive for excellence
in areas relative to the education community. Classified
school employees contribute to the establishment and
promotion of a positive instructional environment as
paraeducators, library aids, and also provide other
essential educational services, such as transportation,
facilities maintenance and operations, food and support
services, and health care, and they play an essential role
in providing for the welfare and safety of California's
public school children and community college students.
