           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "CHP Officer Raymond Carpenter  
          Memorial Highway," the Rocklin Road interchange on Interstate 80  
          in Placer County.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs;  
          these costs are covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose  . This measure honors Officer Carpenter, a 13-year  
          veteran of the CHP, who was shot and killed in the line of duty  
          on February 17, 1970.
