           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates as the "James F. McManus Memorial  
          Bridge" the Salmon Creek Bridge on State Route 101 in Humboldt  
          County.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs;  
          these costs are covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           1)Purpose  .  This measure honors Mr. McManus, who retired in 1992  
            after a 38-year career at Caltrans.  Mr. McManus died on  
            December 2, 2006.

           2)Prior Legislation  .  This measure is identical to the author's  
            SCR 120 of 2008, which arrived in the Assembly too late for  
            consideration.
