           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "CHP Office Douglas "Scott"  
          Russell Memorial Freeway," a portion of State Route 50 in the  
          community of Shingle Springs in El Dorado County.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs;  
          these costs are covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose  . This measure honors Officer Russell, who served in the  
          California Highway Patrol for 22 years before being struck and  
          killed by a fleeing suspect's vehicle on July 31, 2007.
