          SUBJECT : Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month.

SUMMARY : Proclaims the month of May 2010 as Neurofibromatosis
Awareness Month to increase public awareness of
neurofibromatosis and bring hope to patients and their families.
Specifically, this resolution makes the following legislative
          findings:

1)Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a debilitating genetic disorder of
the nervous system that causes tumors to grow throughout the
body; and, those suffering from NF may experience anything
from mild symptoms to severe symptoms leading to death.

2)Research has directly linked FN to disorders including cancer,
brain tumors, memory loss, learning disabilities, heart
disease, blindness, deafness, and orthopedic problems; and,
increased public knowledge of FN may bring hope to NF patients
and families and support essential research.
