   An act relating to high-speed rail.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 527, as introduced, Ashburn. High-speed rail.
   Existing law creates the High-Speed Rail Authority with specified
powers and duties relating to the development and implementation of
an intercity high-speed rail system.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to reorganize
the High-Speed Rail Authority to ensure greater oversight and
accountability for the high-speed rail project.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to reorganize the
High-Speed Rail Authority to ensure greater oversight and
accountability for the high-speed rail project.
