An act to add Part 12.5 (commencing with Section 2696) to Division
2 of the Labor Code, relating to human trafficking.

SB 1230, as amended, DeSaulnier. Employment: posting requirements.
Existing law requires employers to post various employment-related
information for employees, including information relating to the
payment of wages, workers' compensation, and discrimination in
employment.
This bill would require employers to post information related to
slavery and human trafficking, including information
related to 2 nonprofit organizations that provide services in support
of the elimination of slavery and human trafficking.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Part 12.5 (commencing with Section 2696) is added to
Division 2 of the Labor Code, to read:
PART 12.5. HUMAN TRAFFICKING
2696. (a) An employer shall post in a conspicuous location
frequented by employees a notice in substantially the following form:
""Victims of slavery and human trafficking are
protected
