   An act relating to healing arts.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 1282, as introduced, Steinberg. Applied behavioral analysis
therapists.
   Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of various
healing arts practitioners, including, but not limited to, marriage
and family therapists, clinical social workers, educational
psychologists, and professional clinical counselors, by the Board of
Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Consumer Affairs.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would provide for the certification of applied
behavioral analysis therapists.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would provide for the certification of applied
behavioral analysis therapists.
