An act to amend Section 163 of the Military and Veterans Code,
relating to the military.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 1369, as introduced, Aanestad. Military and veterans: Adjutant
General.
Existing law provides that the Adjutant General is chief of staff
to the Governor and the commander of all state military forces.
Existing law requires the Adjutant General to perform duties as
specified and consistent with the regulations and customs of the
United States Army, Air Force, and Navy, as provided.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 163 of the Military and Veterans Code is
amended to read:
163. The Adjutant General shall perform such
the duties as are prescribed in this code and
such the additional duties consistent with the
regulations and customs of the United States Army, United States Air
Force, and the United States Navy as may be
prescribed by the Governor. He The Adjutant
General shall issue all orders in the name of the Governor.
