           COMMENTS

Purpose . This is a code maintenance bill-authored by the chair
of the Senate Energy, Utilities, and Communications Committee-to
revise, renumber and repeal sections of the Public Utilities
Code and Public Resources Code. The provision requiring the
chair of the CEC to appear before relevant legislative policies
committees is similar to an existing requirement for the
president of the PUC to appear before such committees.
