ACR 31 (Olsen) - As Introduced: March 2, 2011
Policy Committee:
TransportationVote:13-1
Urgency: No State Mandated Local Program:
No Reimbursable:
SUMMARY
This measure designates, as the "CHP Officer Earl Scott Memorial
Highway," the portion of State Route (SR) 219 between SR 99 and
SR 108 in Stanislaus County. The measure also rescinds a
previous designation for Officer Scott made by SCR 120 of 2010.
FISCAL EFFECT
No additional cost, as the resolution replaces one designation
with another. Costs to make and erect the appropriate signs are
covered by donations. (State Highway Account.)
COMMENTS
Purpose . This measure honors Officer Scott, who served with the
CHP for five years and was shot and killed while making a
traffic stop on SR 99 on February 17, 2006.
In 2010, the Legislature designated a segment of SR 99 in honor
of Officer Scott. This bill would rescind that designation and
replace it with one on a segment of SR 219 that passes in front
of the local CHP office.
