           SUMMARY  

          Designates, as the "CHP Officer Philip Dennis Ortiz Memorial 
          Highway," the portion of State Route (SR) 405 south of National 
          Boulevard and north of the Palms Overcrossing in Los Angeles 
          County.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor costs to Caltrans to make and erect appropriate signs; 
          these costs are covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose  . This measure honors Officer Ortiz, an 18-year veteran 
          of the CHP, who died shortly after being struck on June 22, 2010 
          by a vehicle while off his motorcycle and along the shoulder of 
          SR 405.
