SUBJECT : F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program

DIGEST : This resolution urges the Congress of the United
States to recognize the importance of the F-35 aircraft and
to support the full funding of the F-35 Joint Strike
Fighter Program.
ANALYSIS : This resolution makes the following
legislative findings:
1. The United States Congress is currently reviewing the
full funding of the F-35 Joint Striker Program; and, the
United States has been investing in the production of
the F-35 for more than a decade and will lose the
benefits of this investment if full funding and planned
production are not continued.
2. The F-35 generates more than 27,000 direct and indirect
high technology, high paying jobs for California; and,
the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program provides a
sustained economic impact to California of over $6

billion.
3. The F-35 will provide needed support for our nation's
military, will strengthen our international alliances,
and ensure the success of our peacekeeping missions;
and, our investment in the technological superiority of
our military will honor Californians and United States
citizens who have served our nation to protect freedom
through military service.
